Cracking Awaba Book
Cracking Awaba is a publication that draws on seventy-two oral histories which illuminate life in Manly, Mosman, Pittwater and Warringah in Sydney during the 1930s. It evokes the landscapes, cultures and communities of these north shore and northern beaches areas in and around the Depression era. Illustrations drawn from the native flora found in the area feature in the design, evoking a sense of 'being there'. The book also serves as a rich photographic record concerning a previous generation as many historical images were sourced from local library collections and digitally restored.
